Orthopedic Extremity Surgeon

Dr. Cristin Mathew is an Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine Specialist who works with patients of various backgrounds and ailments. He performs, non-operative, minimally invasive, and complex reconstruction surgery.
Dr. Mathew received his doctorate at the Via College of Osteopathic Medicine at Virginia Tech and later completed his residency at the competitive Northwell Health in New York. He later spent an additional fellowship year of training at Methodist Hospital where he honed his skills and knowledge of minimally invasive surgery and had the honor of being a part of the medical staff of the Houston Astros, Texans, Rockets, Dynamo & Sabercats. He is presently the team physician for the Houston Havoc Ultimate Team and serves as the Tournament and Tour Physician for several area clubs and organizations. He most recently traveled as the team physician for the US Men’s Collegiate Rugby Allstars in Paris.
Dr. Mathew is consistently looking for new ways of restoring health and providing patients advanced treatments to get them back to a pain-free life. He currently works on many clinical research projects, presents and educates at national conferences and is also a consultant for various organizations to advance patient care and physician education.
His expertise extends beyond clinical practice, and he’s committed to furthering his own medical contributions by way of authoring numerous research papers and being involved in medical presentations as well as being a member of medical societies including the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America among several others.
In his free time, Dr. Mathew loves to spend time with his family and church, volunteers coaching ,and enjoys growing the sport of rugby. He also continues to mentor students into the path of medicine.
