Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How may I be eligible for a transport service?

Patients must be located within a 30-mile radius of our Minivasive Pain & Orthopedics offices in order to qualify for transportation. Patients will not be given a pickup time when setting up an appointment. They will be given a call a day before (which they have to answer) to confirm and be given a pickup time. If unsure, please contact Minivasive Pain & Orthopedics for more information.

What if I can't make my appointment and I need to reschedule?

PATIENT VISIT RESCHEDULE:

Please call our Minivasive office as soon as you realize you will not be able to keep your appointment. We prefer all cancellations be made at least 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment time. This will allow us to give another patient the opportunity to be seen.

How to prepare for scheduled procedures the day before and afterward?

BEFORE PROCEDURE:

Must not eat or drink anything starting at midnight the night before your procedure. (No food or liquids, including water, soda, coffee, gum, mints, candy, etc.) A driver is required for your procedure and must be present at check-in unless we are providing you transportation. In this case, transportation is for the patient only. If you are taking BLOOD-THINNERS (i.e. Heparin, Coumadin, Warfarin, Plavix) or ANTIBIOTICS, or are running a temperature higher than 100.4°F, please notify our staff before your procedure. Please come dressed comfortably and leave all jewelry and valuables at home.

AFTER PROCEDURE:

Following your procedure, please go home and relax for at least 12 hours. DO NOT engage in strenuous activities the day of or the day after your procedure.

You may resume normal activities after two days.

You may feel some soreness at the injection site for up to two days.

Please call our office if you experience increasing or unbearable pain, fever, or bowel or urinary incontinence.

As always, please do not hesitate to call our office if you have any questions or concerns.

How long will an injection procedure take?

The duration of any pain management procedure depends on the procedure and the individual.

Sedation is offered for most procedures that require a longer preparation and recovery time. Specific details, including procedure duration, are discussed prior to scheduling any procedures.
